Position Purpose
Job Description
The hands-on Senior Developer/Architect role will contribute to improving our innovative security technologies for cloud based applications. The role is expected to work closely with members from various teams to deliver world class products that meet our customers’ business needs.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze business requirements (product functionalities)
Estimate and plan implementation effort of features
Write design diagrams and technical specifications, documentations
Write high-quality code with emphasis on security, performance, and scalability
Participate actively and contribute to design, development discussions
Perform technical analysis to present pros and cons of various solutions to problems
Work closely with off-shore development and other team members to resolve technical issues and coordinate builds/releases
Mentor junior team members as and when necessary
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science related field
6+ years of hands-on experience in Networking, HTTP, SMTP, and Web Services using Java
Hands on experience in the design and development of software products/applications built on the Java platform
Core Java hands-on programming skills in Networking, HTTP, SMTP, Web services, XML, Cookie/URL handling, and performance tuning
Experience with Continuous Integration and code quality improvement tools (Sonar, PMD, eclemma, Maven etc)
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
Excellent debugging skills, code reviewing capabilities and refactoring skills
Quick learner and a self-starter
Working knowledge of Linux based test and deployment environments
Proven experience with cloud applications and platforms (SalesForce, GAE, Amazon S3)
An appreciation for the cool stuff that is happening on the Cloud with Software as a Service (SaaS) Platforms. For Eg: Force.com and thesurrounding ecosystem (users, platform, apps etc)
Exposure to and interest in Open Source frameworks, tools, and technologies
Prior start-up experience
